Correction to my essay in WUWT, Is Climate Alarmism Governance at War with the USA?: the likely time when hostile activities of the governing body of climate alarmism hypothetically rose to the level of war is 2011-2013, about a year and a half later than written in the article. Thanks to Hilary Ostrov for reminding me of the relevant facts.
This is a summary of When Silicon Valley Went Off the Cliff, focusing on connections and parallels between the short lived “ban alarmism” and climate alarmism. From January 28 through February 8, a number of Silicon Valley and Washington state corporate executives participated in an attempt to topple President Trump, orchestrated by the Left after President Trump signed the original order, Executive Order No. 13769 Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States on January 27. WA Attorney General Bob Ferguson, one of the Attorneys General United for Clean Power, filed a stinky lawsuit against President Trump and succeeded to halt implementation of the Executive order. 129 corporations, who hold monopolies in Internet search, “social media,” TV and movie streaming, as well as other markets for speech and press, filed an Amici Brief supporting the rogue Attorney General against the President. Their reaction to the Executive order was so out of proportion that an analogy with climate alarmism immediately sprung to mind. Here, I do not recite the original Executive order because I expect that readers did not trust to the Fake Stream Media reporting about it.
Some of the social dynamics behind this overreaction are described in the essay When Silicon Valley Went Off the Cliff. This new low looks like a development of climate alarmism, compressed in time from 30 years to 10 days and happening on the scale of corporations instead of nations. Like a small scale experiment with societal instability, one might say. Continue reading Who leans left, falls left. The Dirty 129
In less than a month, some people will celebrate Lenin’s birthday, calling it Earth Day.
But today, March 25, 2017, is the
-Earth Day for the rest of us.
Barack and Michelle Obama have inked a $65 million deal for their memoirs (two books) with publisher, Penguin Random House. This publishing house is jointly owned by Bertelsmann Foundation (Germany) and Pearson PLC (UK). Bertelsmann Foundation, owning 53% in the joint venture, is not a commercial enterprise, but a politically engaged entity.
This amount is over four times the amount Bill Clinton received ($15 million), and six times the amount George W. Bush received ($10 million) — according to Fox News. The most likely reason is higher popularity of Obama abroad. Thus, for his service as the President of the United States, Obama received $3.2M in salary, and $65 million from foreign publishers, serving mostly foreign audiences. Is it surprising that he has not been faithful to his Oath to preserve and protect the Constitution?
Defeat Climate Change Cult!. Updated from 03/01/2017.
The so-called “climate science” is based on the output of extremely complex computer climate models that cannot be understood by humans. Even worse, these models are incorrect because they contradict well-known principles of mathematics and the information theory. Other important points:
- Computers are built around silicon chips.
- Silicon (in the form of silicon oxides) is the main component of ordinary stones and rocks.
- Silicon chip output is interpreted by so-called “climate scientists” as the prophecy of future climate changes for decades, hundreds, and thousands of years into the future. Prophesies that were made 20-30 years ago have already been shown false.
- “Climate scientists” form a closed cast that claims nobody else can understand their “science,” including famous physicists and mathematicians. Very few of these “climate scientists” have scientific achievements outside of the “climate science” or related environmentalist frauds. These “climate scientists” and their political/financial sponsors have persecuted dissenters and have used government power to do so.
- These “climate scientists” are not scientists or even ordinary frauds, but the priests and shamans of the climate cult.

This is an admission from NY Times on February 6: Democratic Party operatives and democratic attorney generals and governors do not know the differences between their roles. Per admission, democratic attorney generals and governors are Democratic Party operatives appointed to the positions where they benefit other Democratic Party operatives and Democratic Party donors:
“In interviews, more than a dozen Democratic attorneys general, governors and party operatives detailed a week of frenzied litigation, late-night and early-morning phone calls and text messages, and strategies devised on airplanes and at sporting events. All told, Democrats say, the legal onslaught against Mr. Trump was a crystallizing moment for the party’s attorneys general — and a model for how to stall or unwind the administration policies they find most offensive.”
“Mr. Schneiderman, a former state senator from Manhattan who is in his second term as attorney general, called the travel ban a ‘first test’ of the Democratic legal apparatus under Mr. Trump.” Continue reading Democratic Attorneys General and Other Party Operatives

Using the term “information warfare” literally while excluding cyber warfare from it, there are two important points to contemplate:
Climate Alarmism has been waging information warfare against the U.S. for many years.
The U.S. military has no information warfare capabilities. Furthermore, employing or even possessing substantial defensive information warfare capacities might be going against the Constitution.
Russia has just acknowledged that its military has Information Warfare Troops. Remarkably, this military branch was revealed with the announcement of deploying 41 new intercontinental ballistic missiles. “Information warfare” has totally different meanings for the Russian and American militaries. The Pentagon confines the use of this term strictly to cyber warfare: computer hacking, denial of service attacks, air broadcast interference, etc. But the Russian Defense Ministry understands information warfare as covert propaganda and what KGB used to call “active operations.” Continue reading Climate Alarmism & Information Warfare
The fake news networks (FNN) widely reported a demonstration of about 150 alleged tech workers against President Trump in connection to the immigration order. The photos from the demonstration show massive presence of UNITE HERE! – an extremist union whose captive membership consists mostly of unqualified workers.
I appreciate the sacrifice of these tech workers (if there are any; see the fake scientists demonstration) for the sake of profits of their employers who advocate unrestricted immigration from low-wage countries that replace American tech workers.
From the moment absurdity is recognized, it becomes a passion, the most harrowing of all. — Albert Camus
This is the best description of climate alarmism believers without the word “cult”.
“The FTC’s complaint alleges that OMICS Group, Inc., along with two affiliated companies and their president and director, Srinubabu Gedela, claim that their journals follow rigorous peer-review practices and have editorial boards made up of prominent academics. In reality, many articles are published with little to no peer review and numerous individuals represented to be editors have not agreed to be affiliated with the journals.” – from its press release on August 26, 2016.
These alleged crimes of OMICS Group sound very much like actions of IPCC and the Cambridge University Press, publishing IPCC reports. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, isn’t it?
14 Reasons why Silicon Valley embraced Climate Alarmism is published in WUWT.
- Silicon Valley consists from a large number of individuals with very similar professional backgrounds and a small pool of knowledge. Communication in such groups tends to reinforce their preconceived notions. Another place with this social phenomenon is Hollywood.
- The psychological types dominating these places might be totally opposite – egocentric actors and actresses in Hollywood vs introvert computer professionals in Silicon Valley (sorry for the stereotypes) – but their effect might be the same: discounting opinions of outsiders, even on subjects in which those outsiders have interest, knowledge, and experience.
- Privileged (in comparison with the manufacturing, energy, and other basic industries) political status of the software industry, also similar to that of Hollywood.
- Recent influx of “content creators” with hard left views.
The wife of Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, notorious for his calls to lynch climate skeptics, Sandra Whitehouse, PhD, got a new job as the Chief Scientific Officer of AltaSea (Los Angeles, CA), according to this press release. She will “work” on a consulting basis. Apparently, Sandra Whitehouse can hold a number of such “consulting jobs” in the same time. One of them is a Senior Advisor to Ocean Conservancy (Washington, DC). According to Ocean Conservancy’s 990 form for a year ending in June 2015, she received $235,000 for something called “Marine Spatial Planning“. In five years ending in June 2015 she received $980,800 just from Ocean Conservancy. Continue reading Senator Shouldbe’n Jailhouse gets another Fishy Income
Do you know that the Hammer of Witches has been peer reviewed?
In or around 1487, the theological faculty of the University of Cologne peer reviewed the Hammer of Witches (the quoted edition is Mackay, The Hammer of Witches: A Complete Translation of the Malleus Maleficarum. Cambridge University Press(1)):
“The proceedings are then carried out under the careful guidance of Lambertus de Monte, the head of the theological faculty of the University of Cologne, who first states his own approval of the questions to be approved, and is then followed with greater or lesser enthusiasm by other members of the faculty who were present. The proceedings were based on the faculty members’ prior reading of the work.” (p. 9)
The Hammer of Witches “educated” its readers on the presumed witchcraft and encouraged them to take action against alleged witches. Among other things, it accused the supposed witches of causing what is currently called extreme weather events: Continue reading Peer Review of “Weather Cooking”
June 2, 2017 (four months from today) will be the 25 year anniversary of the Heidelberg Appeal. This historical document, signed by more than 4,000 distinguished scientists, including 70 Nobel Laureates, was released in the beginning of the infamous “Earth Summit” (Rio de Janeiro, 1992) to oppose environmental obscurantism, including climate alarmism. Among other things, the Heidelberg Appeal said:
We want to make our full contribution to the preservation of our common heritage, the Earth.
We are, however, worried at the dawn of the twenty-first century, at the emergence of an irrational ideology which is opposed to scientific and industrial progress and impedes economic and social development.
We contend that a Natural State, sometimes idealized by movements with a tendency to look toward the past, does not exist and has probably never existed …
We intend to assert science’s responsibility and duties toward society as a whole.
We do, however, forewarn the authorities in charge of our planet’s destiny against decisions which are supported by pseudoscientific arguments of false and nonrelevant date.
The greatest evils which stalk our Earth are ignorance and oppression, and not Science, Technology, and Industry …
These wise words by the most distinguished scientists in the world Continue reading Heidelberg Appeal’s Anniversary – 4,000+ scientists, 70 Nobel Laureates
The National Association of Scholars has published my new article, Academia is in the New Dark Age.
It continues polemics, started by an earlier article Academia on the Verge of a New Dark Age.
And it cites articles, published by Naomi Oreskes in 1994-2001, that eviscerated “climate models”, their use by IPCC, and warned about the pressure put on the scientists to endorse those models – just before she yielded to that pressure herself.

Apparently, producers and editors of the leftstream TV channels lost ability to distinguish fiction from reality. Such TV genres as reality shows, environmentalist propaganda, and the liberal drivel in general blend reality and fiction in various ways. Combined with echoes of academic postmodern contructivist theories, this leads to the current post-truth reporting. Alternatively, the leftstream TV expresses contempt to its viewers. Whatever the cause, the fictional character “Bill Nye the Science Guy” has been presented as a real scientist on ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN.
If you watch news on any of these channels, these might be fake news. New York Times has called this actor “the science guy” as well. Bill Nye receive BS in mechanical engineering in 1977 and worked as an engineer for some years after that. By 1993 his engineering gig was over. He has been an actor and a “TV personality” for the last 20 – 25 years. He can be called a former engineer, if it helps.

Michael Mann et al. claimed they were not required to share code according to rules allegedly made by the National Science Foundation (NSF). These alleged rules seem unique. For example, Nature contributors expect scientists who publish in peer-reviewed journals to not only share their code, but to do it quickly:
This makes sense. If the NSF issued a rule against mandatory code disclosure in time for Mann et al. to use it, it might have acted with the explicit purpose of protecting climate fraud.
Wikipedia was hit by a scandal in 2009 when the public learned that William Connolley, a British Green Party politician and avid climate alarmist, was a Wikipedia administrator using his privileges to push climate alarmism while simultaneously suppressing dissenting voices. In addition to this, he personally edited more than 5,000 Wikipedia articles related to climate change debates. Wikipedia revoked his administrator’s privileges and the scandal has since dissipated.
But Wikipedia has continued to serve as a mouthpiece for climate alarmism. In 2010, the Wikipedia Arbitration Committee banned Connolley and 15 other editors, most of whom had neutral or “skeptical” views in climate change.
Jimmy Wales, a founder and public face of Wikipedia, lived in Florida and held older Libertarian views (as in Friedrich Hayek and Ayn Rand, not Gary Johnson) . But in order to get funding for Wikipedia, he transferred it to the special-made Wikimedia Foundation (WMF), which became quickly dominated by a group of people that might be referred to as “San Francisco-type liberals.” WMF even moved to San Francisco. These people built a Wikipedia that mirrored their own ideological orthodoxy, including climate alarmism. Continue reading Wikipedia, a Housemaid for Climate Alarmism
This is the best description of the climatist “science”! Said by James Hansen about his own model in early 1990’s, according to McKibben:
NASA’s James Hansen, who had already done more than anyone else to warn the world about the greenhouse effect, made the gutsiest call, issuing a precise prediction for how the planet’s temperature would shift, month by month, in the next three years. At first he seemed to have missed, and greenhouse skeptics jumped all over the early results, using them to call the whole theory into question. But at a memorable scientific meeting in Hawaii, Hansen stood up and said, “I believe this is one case where the model is right and the world is wrong.”
Mckibben, Bill. The End of Nature (Kindle Locations 128-132)
Although there are enough fools who believe climate alarmists and other Leftist agitators, the latter resort to paying people to participate in demonstrations, and even purchase services of firms, specializing in “organizing civil disobedience.” From McKibben, Oil and Honey: The Education of an Unlikely Activist (referring to events of 2011):
“Our advance team had been on the ground in Washington for three weeks. It turns out that in a market society there are people equipped to fill every need, including organizing civil disobedience. The crew we’d found, and who would soon become close colleagues, was headed by Matt Leonard.”
“Matt kept saying that we’d be fine with five or ten arrestees a day over our two-week protest; even as the number of people signing up kept mounting, he cautioned that many would melt away. The D.C. police must have felt the same way, because it was next to impossible to get their attention— our team was bounced from one sergeant to another, and none seemed to take the whole thing very seriously. I began to worry they’d just let us sit there, that we wouldn’t get arrested at all.”

Excerpts from 2015 essay Global Warming and Irrelevance of Science by Prof. Richard Lindzen.
In many fields, governments have a monopoly on the support of scientific research….
…, the powers that be invent the narrative independently of the views of even cooperating scientists. It is, in this sense, that the science becomes irrelevant. This was certainly the case in the first half of the twentieth century, where we just have to look at Lysenkoism in the former Soviet Union, Social Darwinism, and Eugenics throughout the western world , as well as, in the 1960s, the unfounded demonization of DDT . Each phenomenon led to millions of deaths. And, in each case, the scientific community was essentially paralyzed, if not actually complicit. …
The implausibility or even outright silliness whereby global warming became global warming catastrophism (sometimes referred to as CAGW, catastrophic anthropogenic global warming) is so extensive that one hardly knows where to begin. …

Just got back from the Crossroads: Energy & Climate Policy Summit , a climate realism conference in Washington, DC, hosted by the Heritage Foundation and co-sponsored by the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
I was impressed by the number of diplomats from the European countries and the EU! A delegate from the Embassy of France, sitting next to me, was taking notes continuously. The world did take notice that the President-elect would not be bullied by the enviros and the UN.
That gives a hope that the Europe will shake off the yoke of climate alarmism.
Update (an hour later): NY Times keeps tinkering with the terminology and the article headline. Now it is “climate change denialist” (8 Dec 2016 20:50:53 EST)
NY Times seems to have stopped calling climate realists “deniers” and “doubters”. Instead, it started using a respectful word dissenter. Example: Trump Picks Scott Pruitt, Climate Change Dissenter, to Lead E.P.A.
Also remarkable how NY Times rewrote the title of the article from Donald Trump Picks Scott Pruitt, Ally of Fossil Fuel Industry, to Lead E.P.A. (7 Dec 2016, 15:47:29 EST) to its current version Trump Picks Scott Pruitt, Climate Change Dissenter, to Lead E.P.A. (7 Dec 2016, 18:46:58 EST) and changed the text within less than three hours, without admitting this rewrite.
Few days ago, the left-stream media and Obama have raised a ruckus about “fake news,” which they blamed for their election loss. The ruckus boils down to two allegations: a) conservatives produce fake news, and b) conservatives tend to believe fake news. But a closer look proves both allegations wrong. Instead, misinformation is shown to be the province of the Left, and nearly indispensable part of a modern liberal education.
The ruckus started with an NPR article, We Tracked Down a Fake-News Creator In The Suburbs. Here’s What We Learned. NPR interviewed the founder and owner of an official fake news media company Disinfomedia, Jestin Coler. Coler is a journalist, political science major, and a self-professed liberal. This sentence is an almost precise description of the liberal establishment and the Democratic brass today. Obama is gone. Let the rest of them follow.
Up until election day, almost all polls and analytical forecasts predicted that Hillary, a candidate from the incumbent Democratic Party, would win. Instead, Trump won by a large margin. Republicans won both House and Senate.
This pattern is frequently observed when a ruling party persecutes opposition. Fearing repression, supporters of the opposition disproportionately avoid polling or claim to support the ruling party. They express their opinion only on election day.

On September 13, Dr. Roger Cohen, a theoretical physicist and industrial manager, passed away after a courageous battle against climate alarmism, complicated by a malignant brain tumor. He was one of the distinguished members of the American Physical Society, who brought attention to machinations of its political apparatchiks, and led APS to make a middle-of-the-road statement about the physics of the climate.
In preparation of its texts, IPCC utilizes General Circulation Models (GCMs), analyzed using computers. Such models, and the way in which IPCC utilizes them, exhibit — among others — the following errors.
There is no mathematical apparatus (i.e., proven theorems) behind these models and “ensembles”. This fact makes the whole modeling exercise useless. This fact also makes rigorous evaluation or criticism of these models very difficult or even impossible to do. The following notes apply to the GCM models (including their more complex variations, such as AOGCM). Continue reading Mathematical Errors in IPCC Climate Models
The General Circulation Models (GCM), alleged by IPCC to forecast climate, are computationally intensive computer programs that repetitively perform the same task: integrating specific sets of differential equations, such as the primitive equations of weather. In such situations, a normal practice is developing specialized hardware for performing that task. One example is video encoding hardware, evolved from big boxes, that make grainy and jumpy 640×480 moving pictures, to the tiny circuits inside of the CPUs of modern cell phone, producing smooth 1920×1080 full motion video. Six weeks ago the former American Association for the Advancement of Science and leftstream media published a letter to Congress, repeating false claims of “scientific consensus” on indeterminate “climate change”. The letter was allegedly signed by 31 top scientific societies “speaking with one voice on global climate change”, although American Physical Society (APS) had publicly refused to sign. A quick survey revealed that even among the societies, listed on the letter, many important ones did not sign it. Some did.

Sometimes the obsession for control of the climate got a bit out of hand, as in the Aztec state, where the local scientific/religious establishment of the year 1500 had long since announced that the debate was over and that at least 20,000 human sacrifices a year were needed to keep the sun moving, the rain falling, and to stop climate change.

Do Democratic Party supporters believe in Climatism themselves? I mean, believe strongly enough to invest their own money based on the so-called “settled science”? An obligatory Climatist belief is that “climate change” will cause a rapid sea level rise and the flooding of low-lying lands, including most beachfront or waterfront properties. Another alarmist claim is an impending increase in hurricanes and storms. Since the majority of owners of waterfront properties are either Democrats or RINOs, if they are true believers they should be selling, and the prices should be falling, sinking well below the prices of similar non-waterfront properties. A house is a valuable investment, but a flooded and storm ravaged one loses all its value. But the real trend is exactly the opposite. Continue reading What is rising – Sea Level or Waterfront Prices?
Can you guess whose slogan that might be? Burundi Council of Ministers — wrong answer. A band of hallucinating patients in a psychiatric hospital — wrong again.
This is the United States Global Change Research Program! Its full slogan: Thirteen Agencies, One Vision: Empower the Nation with Global Change Science. Among the participating thirteen agencies are the Department of Defense, NASA, NSF, the State Department, the Department of Energy, and the Department of the Interior.
“Thirteen Agencies, One Delusion” would be more accurate.
Some of the wealthiest Americans, those who benefit most from the freedoms and opportunities provided by this country, also side with its worst enemies. They use their wealth to take away our rights and freedoms, violate the Constitution, and try to subject America to foreign rule. Many others are sitting on the fence. Continue reading Cheers to Charles and David Koch
A talk that retired Rear Admiral David Titley gave at the Senate hearing Data or Dogma (where he represented the Dogma) brought my attention to a dark entity, misleadingly calling itself the “American Security Project.” Within this project, Titley is charged with promoting climate alarmism and forcing the UN climate consensus on America.
Some parts of the ASP’s website make it look more like the North Korea Security Project. One article, which appeared after another North Korean nuclear test, is an outright advocacy for North Korea:
Basically, it is incredibly unlikely that North Korea will use its nuclear weapons prior to the outbreak of a new Korean war, which the country has no interest in starting.
Incredibly unlikely? Has no interest in starting a war? Are we talking about the same North Korea? In 2010, North Korea sank the South Korean vessel Cheonan and shelled Greater Yeonpyeong island, killing 50 men in both incidents. In 2013, North Korea threatened to launch a “pre-emptive” nuclear strike on the US. If that is not “interest in starting a war”, then what is? Continue reading Climate Alarmism and North Korea
Is it normal for the President of the United States of America to threaten the People with military force? In his State of the Union speech, Obama said:
Look, if anybody still wants to dispute the science around climate change, have at it. You will be pretty lonely, because you’ll be debating our military … and 200 nations around the world who agree it’s a problem and intend to solve it. (link)
He said this only a few hours after allowing Iran to capture two Navy boats and their crew, to take the Navy sailors prisoners and compel a female captive to wear a hijab, and to force them all to kneel before Iranian National Guardsmen.
I know that before Obama, it was other way around: the armed forces defended America against foreign threats, instead of being pawns to “debate” their own citizens. This “debate offer” is something from the repertoire of African dictators, but even Obama’s fellow dictators do not threaten their subjects so overtly on behalf of foreign powers. And I doubt that many of them use weasel words like “carbon pollution.” Carbon dioxide in the air is not pollution, but plants’ nutrients, and of course carbon constitutes most of the dry mass of a human body.
Will this horror end after the November 2016 elections? Judging by the current trends, I am not so sure there will be elections at all.

When it seems that the climatist propaganda cannot get more bizarre, it does get more bizarre! This time the climatists enlisted … a gorilla. See Discovery Channel: Koko the Gorilla’s Important Message About Climate Change. Gorilla Koko allegedly said (in sign language): Man Koko love. Earth Koko love. But man stupid. … Koko sorry. Koko cry. Time hurry. Fix Earth! Help Earth! Hurry. Continue reading Gorilla Koko joins alarmist consensus !!!
Update: our most powerful supercomputer, currently Titan Cray XK7, capable of 27 Petaflops, is also surrendered to run climate models now! Not surprising that we are trailing China (Tianhe-2). On the topic of the computing power: its increase cannot help climate models. Solutions for Navier–Stokes equations are unstable for all but very simple special cases.
Originally published on 10/21/2015: inspired by this press-release from Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, boasting a new super-computer capable of 212 Teraflops, I’ve decided that a Teraflop is an excellent unit to measure the otherwise countless failures of the “climate scientists.” (1 Teraflop = 1 trillion flops.) Something in the article Why not a war on global warming? in The Globe and Mail has attracted my attention. It was not the idiotic title (which received an excellent retort in the comments: “How about a war on Plate Tectonics?”). It was the article author’s retelling of the words of Carter Roberts, head of the World Wildlife Fund: Continue reading Is WWF preparing to jettison Climatism?
