Following the unprecedented success of the IPCC fraud, the UN centered “global governance” has grown another tentacle and named it IPBES – Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. IPBES Chair is notorious Robert Watson, who was IPCC Chair in 1997-2002.
From its recent press release:
Often described as the “IPCC for biodiversity”, IPBES is an independent intergovernmental body comprising more than 130 member Governments. Established by Governments in 2012 …
It re-uses IPCC template almost word by word:
IPBES has now released the Summary for Policymakers (SPM) of the Global Assessment report.
The IPBES Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services is the most comprehensive ever completed. It is the first intergovernmental Report of its kind … introducing innovative ways of evaluating evidence.
Shameless but frank. Like IPCC, it pretends to present “the authoritative science, knowledge and the policy options“:
Compiled by 145 expert authors from 50 countries over the past three years …
Based on the systematic review of about 15,000 scientific and government sources …
Most comprehensive assessment of its kind; 1,000,000 species threatened with extinction
“IPBES presents the authoritative science, knowledge and the policy options to decisionmakers for their consideration,” said IPBES Executive Secretary, Dr. Anne Larigauderie.
The litany of complaints is familiar:
Nature’s Dangerous Decline ‘Unprecedented’
Species Extinction Rates ‘Accelerating’
Current global response insufficient;
‘Transformative changes’ needed to restore and protect nature;
Opposition from vested interests can be overcome for public good
Like IPCC, IPBES defines its subject matter broadly to be able of intruding on almost any matter everywhere in the world. Also read IPCC Clone Predicts Climate Doom.
More bloated governmental bureaucracy based on a fallacious premise. Like cancer, governments metastasise and grow at an alarming rate, chocking an otherwise healthy society to death.
I don’t know which is worse, government fat, political correctness or the “Global Warming” lie!
Id est quod id est.
Things may have not changed so much over the past 25 years. Unsupported claims were made then as well. My father co-authored a paper and op-ed on the matter with Julian Simon in 1993:
